... was born near Piacenza. She grew up in the Varese area and graduated in Milan. She worked in collaboration with Nobel Prize winner, Carlo Rubbia, on the Icarus experiment, leading the Milan team. Donatella has been involved in the LHC adventure since its beginnings, having joined the ATLAS collaboration when it was formed in 1992. In recent years, she has coordinated the working group on the search for the Higgs Boson, and two teams dedicated to detector performance studies.

"In spite of both her parents being physicists, my daughter decided to become an architect. But we do share a love and admiration for art, even if my great passion (besides Physics!) is old American movies."
