Strongly out of equilibrium phase transitions and applications in particle physics and cosmology.

Abstract

In this talk, I first discuss on general grounds the dynamics of phase transitions in quantum field theory out of equilibrium in the large N approximation. Then, I focus on electomagnetic signatures of the transition and I discuss physical applications in heavy ion collisions and cosmology. This talk is based on work made in collaboration with D. Boyanovsky (Pittsburgh University) and H.J. de Vega (LPTHE-Jussieu Paris).
