Beyond the RNA secondary structures by Matrix Models

Abstract

In this talk the problem of RNA folding with pseudoknots is considered. There are graphical representations of RNA structures such that the secondary structures are described by planar diagrams and pseudoknots by non-planar diagrams. Recently a matrix model has been proposed for studying the problem of RNA folding in the presence of pseudoknots. I will present our numerical and analytical studies of that model.
