Title
Color superconductivity and compact stars
Abstract
A color superconductor is a new state of baryonic matter at high density
and low temperature. In real world, this state of matter may naturally
appear inside compact stars. Realistic constructions of hybrid compact
stars with color superconducting quark matter in their interior will be
presented. The role of the global charge neutrality and beta-equilibrium
conditions in determining the ground state of stellar matter will be
emphasized. Possible observational signatures of color superconductivity
in compact stars will be discussed.
