Project AI4EOSC

Title Artificial Intelligence for the European Open Science Cloud

Project Type HORIZON Research and Innovation Actions

Call for tender HORIZON-INFRA-2021-EOSC-01

Identification code 101058593 – AI4EOSC

CUP I33C22003930006

Fund grant deed Grant Agreement of 05/06/2022

Purpose
The services will use advanced features such as distributed, federated and split learning, provenance metadata, event-based data processing services or serverless computing-based service provisioning.

The project will focus on providing tools to offer AI, ML, DL services by integrating real use cases to co-design the project proposal and drive the integration activities.

AI4EOSC bases its activities on the technological framework provided by the DEEP-Hybrid-DataCloud H2020 project. The DEEP platform (provided through the EOSC portal) is a production-ready system that is being used effectively by EU researchers to train and develop machine learning and deep learning models.

Particular attention is paid to ensure that all research products and sub-products (data, models, metadata, publications, etc.) adhere to the FAIR (findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability) principles.

The AI4EOSC consortium was created to ensure a balanced and complementary set of partners with a strong background in research, development, technology and innovation. The consortium brings together several of the most active institutions in the EOSC in terms of development, implementation, deployment and management of pan-European distributed digital infrastructures, highly innovative SMEs with great potential in the field of AI and extensive experience in the technology sector. All partners involved in the project activities have broad experience in software development. To this end, several academic partners developed key components used in EU manufacturing infrastructure.
