Fund grant deed D.D. No. 1380 of 09/01/2023

Purpose
The project aims at investigating the time evolution of the out-of-equilibrium system produced in the early universe at extreme temperature and density towards a plasma of quarks and gluons (QGP). The ultimate goal is to understand how ordinary matter formed and establish if the QGP evolution can be considered as a prototype for a larger class of evolving systems.

The project activities include the development of efficient algorithms for the analysis of the QGP evolution, aiming at:
– versatility, in order to be suitable for several different use cases
– optimisation and sustainability, in order to challenge the paradigm of unlimitedly scaling the computer power to face problems with increasing complexity.
