European Mobility Week INFN CHALLENGE 16-22 September 2026
The INFN Mobility Manager group is once again organizing a challenge among its Sections and Laboratories during European Mobility Week, running from Wednesday, September 16, to Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The goal is to encourage everyone to use alternatives to private car travel for their daily commute, thereby reducing traffic, pollution, and the consumption of non-renewable resources. The initiative is open to all INFN personnel—including employees, associates, research grant holders, scholarship recipients, and collaborators—and aims to raise awareness about the importance of adopting more sustainable commuting methods whenever possible.
Participating in the Challenge can help raise awareness about the importance of reducing the environmental impact of daily travel while promoting more sustainable and healthy lifestyles. Participants can use a dedicated web form created for the challenge to log kilometers traveled on foot or by bicycle, via public transport, or through carpooling with colleagues, as well as kilometers “saved” through activities such as off-site (remote) work.
The form for logging kilometers traveled or saved will be active from September 16 to September 23 and can be accessed here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/yVWgw1rM0s
At the end of the Challenge, data for each individual Section will be extracted and shared with you, along with any proposals or feedback received.
For our Section, we have planned prizes for the following two categories:
– Intermodal Home-to-Work Commuting: combining walking and public transport;
– Bike-to-work.
The first-place winner in each category will receive a prize.
